Frog, where are you?

Okay, muaj ib hmos ib tug me nyuam tub thiab nws tus aub nrhiav tau ib tug qav, lawv muab tso rau hauv ib lub hwj. 

Okay, there one night one (CL*) child boy and he the dog  find (ed) one (CL) frog, they took put in side one (CL) jar. 

 

Okay, one night a boy and his dog found a frog, they put it in a jar. 

 

Ces tus me nyuam tub thiab tus aub lawv pw tsaug zog tab sis tus qav dhia tawm lub hwj. 

Then the child boy and (CL) dog they lay down sleep but (CL) frog jump out (CL)jar. 

 

Then the boy and the dog went to sleep, but the frog jumped out of the jar. 

 

Ces tag kis sawv ntxov ces tus . . . tus me nyuam tub thiab tus aub sawv los ces tsis pom tus qav lawm. 

Then tomorrow wake early then (CL) . . . (CL) child boy and (CL) dog woke come then not see (CL) frog anymore. 

 

The next morning, the boy and the dog woke up and could not find the frog anymore. 

 

Lawv nrhiav qhov tug los nrhiav tsis laib li hov nrhiav haus txhais khau los tsis pom, nrhiav hauv lub hwj los tsis pom. 

They find where but find not got at all but find in (CL) shoe but not see, find in (CL) jar but not see. 

 

They searched everywhere but could not find anything at all.  They looked in the shoe.  They looked in the jar, but could not find anything. 

 

Ces tus me nyuam tub saib . . . saib, saib sab nraum lub qhov rais, saib qhov twg los nws tsis pom.  (page flip) (pause) 

Then (CL) child boy look…look, look side out (CL) window, look where but he not see. 

 

Then the boy looked out the window, but he could not find anything. 

 

Ces tus me nyuam aub nws poob ntawm qhov rais. 

Then (CL) child dog he fall from window.

 

Then the dog fell from the window. 

 

Nws saib, ces nws poob ntawm qhov rais. 

He look, then he fall from window.

 

He looked and fell from the window.

 

Nws muab lus hwj ua tawg, ua tawg. 

He take (CL) jar make break, make break.

 

He broke the jar.

 

Ces tus me nyuam tub (pause) tus me nyuam tub ntawm no, tsis txaus siab rau tus aub, tab sis tus aub tsis paub ab tsi.  (pause)

Then (CL) child boy (pause) (CL) child boy right here, not satisfy heart (liver) with (CL) dog, but (CL) dog not know anything.

 

Then the boy became mad at the dog, but the dog did not understand human emotions. 

 

Ces tus me nyuam tub thiab tus aub tawm pais nraum zoov pais nrhiav tus qav.  (pause) (page flip)

Then (CL) child boy and (CL) dog out go outside go find (CL) frog. 

 

Then the boy and the dog went outside to find the frog.

(CL) child boy find in, one, find in ground but no see.

 

The boy looked on the ground but did not see anything.

But (CL) dog go…go find (ed) one (CL) nest bee. 

 

The dog found a beehive.

(CL) child boy climb go top (CL)…(CL) tree go find (CL) frog but, some bee then come, (CL) nest it fall then some bee come, come follow (CL) dog.

 

The boy climbed a tree to find the frog.  The beehive fell and the bees chased the dog.

 

Tus me nyuam tub pais nrhiav saum lub . . . lub pob zeb ces pom ib tug plas, umh . . . ya los, ya los raws nws. 

(CL) child boy go find on (CL)…(CL) ball rock then see one (CL) owl, umh…fly come, fly come follow he. 

 

The boy searched on a rock.  Then an owl chased him. 

 

Tus me nyuam tub pais nrhiav tus . . . tus, pais nrhiav tus av saum lub pob zeb los tsis pom.  (page flip) 

(CL) child boy go find (CL)…(CL), go find (CL) ground on (CL) ball rock but no see.

 

The boy searched the rock but could not find anything. 

 

Nws pom tau ib tug mos lwj, ces nws caij tus mov lwj ntawv.  (pause)

He see have one (CL) deer, then he ride (CL) deer there.

 

He saw a deer.  Then he rode the deer.  

 

Ces tus mos lwj thiab nws tus mos lwj muab nws tus, tus aub raws (pause) ces muab nkawv ob leeg pov rau hauv lub pas dej.  (pause) (page flip) 

Then (CL) deer  and he (CL) deer give he (CL), (CL) dog follow (pause) then give them two throw for in (CL) water.

 

Then the deer chased the dog, and threw both of them into the water. 

 

Nkawv pais poob pas dej, tus aub thiab tus me nyuam tub pais poob pas dej. 

They go fall water, (CL) dog and (CL) child boy go fall water.

 

The dog and the boy fell in the water.

 

 

 

Ces nkawv pais hnov, nkawv pais hnov ab tsi quaj hauv pas dej.  (pause) (page flip) 

Then they  go hear, they go hear something cry in water. 

 

Then they heard a sound from the water.

 

Nkawv pais saib no has, pom, pom ib tug qav (pause) pom ob tub qav thiab lawv, lawv tsev neeg qav.  (pause)

They go see here but, see, see one (CL) frog (pause) see two (CL) frog and they, they house person frog.

 

They looked and saw one frog.  They saw two frogs.  Then they found a family of frogs. 

 

Ces . . . ces tus me nyuam tub coj ib tug me nyuam qav nrog nws pais tsev. (pause)

Then…then (CL) child boy take  one (CL) child frog with he go house. 

 

Then the boy took a baby frog with him home. 

 

Ces nws hais . . . nws hais . . . nws hais rau cov qav tias nws mam si ntsib dua.  

Then he say…he say…he say for some frog that he will meet again. 

 

Then he said good-bye to the frogs.
