Profiles of Students

                                         
Nancy Lahai is a ten year old in Jokibu Primary School's Class Five.  The daughter of Hawa Lahai and Lahai Foday, she has five brothers and sisters.  Lahai and Hawa were Jeff Hall’s neighbors during his Peace Corps tenure in the late 1980s, but Nancy wasn’t born, yet.  She is named after Jeff’s mother, who has visited Jokibu twice.

Nancy’s parents quietly encourage her budding interest in medicine, in addition to her performing very well on her own - Nancy is at the top of her class in the sciences, as well as in language arts.  Her teachers describe her as a quiet, studious, and promising pupil whose academic achievements thus far bode quite well for both her prospective performance in secondary school and her dreams for after school - to go to college and become a doctor.
