This page is a list of links and resources I found immensely helpful when I was diagnosed. My advice: Be sure to investigate options available to you. Educate yourself and make decisions with your doctor by asking questions and letting them know when you feel uncomfortable or uneasy about the course of action BEFORE proceeding with the treatment. You need to be informed of what you should expect so that you are prepared to handle it. Don't be afraid to get second opinions. Most doctors are comfortable with this and if your doctor is a know-it-all, chances are you want a different doctor. Consider not just physical treatment, but mental treatment as well. A positive attitude and a clear mind helps the body to heal itself.
These sites are by no means the only ones out there. Ask your doctor about local resources and patient groups that can give you local support and information.
Annie Appleseed Project - The Annie Appleseed Project, a non profit corporation, provides information, education, advocacy and awareness for people with cancer, family and friends interested in, complementary, alternative medicine (CAM), natural therapies from the patient perspective.
Cancer Blog - contact other patients
Cancer .com - a cancer information web site
Lymphoma Survival.com - a web site created for Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma patients with monthly updates and newsletters available. Robert Miller is the creator and is very generous with his knowledge and time.
Yahoo Groups - has a number of groups under "health"focusing on discussion and support for and by patients of a number of ailments. I have found a group specific to my condition that has proven to be a great resource for support when you want advice from someone who has walked the path you are on.
Pathways - If you are in the Minneapolis, MN area, this is a non-profit organization that operates all on volunteers so all services provided are free of charge. There are a number of classes and services ranging from visualization therapy to achieving health goals to free massage. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive and knowledgeable. Also a great place to find other alternative health resources in the Twin Cities area.
