1.) Consider the strategic logic that drove the Cold War arms race. What were its principle assumptions? What were its fears? In what ways might it have driven other areas of life outside of the narrow world of the political/military community?

2.) Watch the film for the presence of technology. Even though the film does not directly address the question, try to use it to explore the relationship between politics and technology during the Cold War. How did Cold War politics shape the place and use of technology in American society? In what ways was technology shaped by the strategic logic of the Cold War? Think about how technology might have developed differently in a different political climate and then use these thoughts to form a set of hypotheses about the effect of the Cold War on American science and technology
