Jeff & Lori Ballantyne

Jeff Ballantyne was born in Idaho and graduated from Boise State University in 1977 with a Bachelor in Business Administration. He then worked in business for two years and traveled to Minnesota in 1980. Shortly after coming to Minneapolis, he became a follower of Jesus. His interest in God's word and ministry blossomed immediately. He attended North Central Bible College for three years and completed a one-year internship in International/Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota. Jeff has worked seventeen years with international students from many different countries and during the last ten years, it has been more focused on Chinese students. He has taught English as a second language in China and has built relationships with hundreds of international students over the years. He co-led a one-year ministry internship program. His wife, Lori, was born in Pennsylvania and graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Architecture. She then traveled to Minnesota where she met Jeff. For the past twenty years, Lori has worked for a small mechanical engineering firm. Together, they have opened their lives and home to many international students since their marriage in 1981.

Jim Tilus

Jim grew up in Little Falls Minnesota and graduated from North Central University in 2006 with a degree in Campus Ministry and Intercultural Studies.  He grew up in a Christian home and was called to serve Christ through international student ministry while attending North Central University in Minneapolis.

Jim has a passion for serving internationals as honored guests in Minneapolis and likes to spend his free time learning about other cultures and attending intercultural events on campus.   He is also learning to speak Japanese and works to share the love of Christ with Japanese students on campus through ISF ministry outreach : “Japanese Student Connections.”
