The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) is an international society for practitioners in the fields of operations research (OR) and management science (MS). It was established in 1995.

INFORMS Student Chapter at UMN devotes to building a bridge between INFORMS professionals and students at UMN by organizing various events on campus.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:
We will organize talks, tours, social events and probably mentor program.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:
We will invite well-known professors or professionals from operation research and management science fields to give talks on their updated research.

How this group fits into its categories:
If you are interested in optimization problems or business management, if you are an engineering students, then this group will fit you in some sense, because these problems are quite common in our study or daily life.

How to get involved with this group:
Just come to our events! Free food will be provided. We will email events to our members in our email list about every event details. Plus, we will post event information on our website and CSE events website through SESB.
