"Third Annual JKD Fighting Arts Workshop Review"

The third annual Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association Fighting Arts Workshop was another smashing success!!  This years camp, located in exciting Las Vegas, Nevada offered something for everyone regardless of size, strength, or experience.  This four day training extravaganza was taught by some of the most qualified fighters and instructors the martial arts world has to offer.  Sifu Larry Hartsell, the Founder and Chief Instructor of the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association offered his expertise in grappling as well as sharing his extensive knowledge of many different filipino Martial Arts systems including Lameco Eskrima, Lacoste Kali, Dumong, amongst others.  Sifu Hartsell also shared many insightful stories about training with Si-Gung Bruce Lee and Guro Dan Inosanto.

Sensei Erik Paulson, the current Light Heavyweight Shoot Wrestling Champion of the World, was on hand to drill the camp participants in the ballistic and brutally efficient art of Shoot Wrestling.  Sensei Erik's fine teaching skills and plentiful ring experience proved to be very popular with all who attended.

Last, but certainly not least, Sifu Julian Loredo taught two very explosive classes centered on the Boxing and KickBoxing ranges of combat.  Sifu Julian, who will be fighting in Paris, France for the World Championship of Savate, brought much to the table in the way of high energy focus glove drills, which allowed for power punching, footwork, and proper body mechanics to be taught.  In addition to these instructors, representatives of the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association from all over the world were in attendance and were readily available to offer their help if needed.  All in all, the instruction offered at this year's camp was second to none!

While the training was nothing less than world class, these annual camps have come to really feel much like a family reunion.  For those of us who have attended previous camps or various martial arts seminars it was great to see old friends once again while quickly building new relationships that will be treasured forever.  Many took advantage of the crazy night life and spent time at the dance clubs, casinos, or simply walking around Las Vegas and taking in all of the sights.

The last evening of the camp was celebrated at a beautiful banquet prepared by Simo Debra Hartsell.  Everyone attending was treated to a fantastic meal, some quality time with friends, and some words of wisdom and encouragement by those instructing the seminar.  The evening was certainly one to remember and for those who have been to previous workshops, this one will be just a bit sadder with the absence of the late Punong Guro Edgar Sulite.

In Closing, one must say that the hours spent at this year's workshop will be treasured for all time.  The information, the fun, and most importantly the wonderful family atmosphere is what will keep us coming back every year!  If you've been there you know, if you haven't yet....You must.
