Developing a new biomarkers
for early detection of
Cancer Therapy Induced Bone Loss


To measure the rate of bone loss while patients are undergoing cancer treatment, we initiated several routes of study to accurately define and display the bone remodeling occurring at the systemic and microscopic levels.  These routes of study include two human feasibility trials, effects of radiation on in vivo skeletal system, and the study of in vitro marrow stromal cells to understand the mechanisms of cancer treatment related bone loss.
