Love is in the Air!

Thank you to all who attended our very first general meeting! We had a great time with our activities and getting caught up with the community. We would also love to thank all of our performers and attendees for the Talent Show. There was a great turn out with wonderful performances and a variety of entertainment. Even our emcees were interesting!
This week we're going to have another meeting! The meeting will take place at our usual place, the Armory 116, at the same time, 4:30PM-6PM this Friday! Please also remember that we are having an amazing and fun-filled event on February 18th. Come and celebrate Valentines, have fun, and be entertained on that day with us. What's happening this week with HMSA?! Well, If you don't yet know, we're having our first General Meeting of the new semester this Friday, January 27 from 4:30-6PM. There will be announcements and fun activities for everyone to participate in. Following the General Meeting, we will be hosting our General Talent Show on Saturday, January 28th from 6-9PM. It's certainly getting chillier these days and that's a sign of the impending Winter season. It's also time for the fabulous annual Hmong NEw YEar celebrations! Be excited because we are having our General Meeting this Friday, November 11th! Same time at the Armory Rm 116. SECONDLY our big event; Heritage Day is coming up fast! We've been busy prepping for the show to make it as perfect and entertaining as possible! Save the date because it will be here in TWO WEEKS! The action happens on NOVEMBER 19th, 2011 NOON-4PM at the St. Paul NorthStar Ballroom. It's a FREE event with FREE FOOD and FREE ENTERTAINMENT! There's also the chance to win prizes and gain more insight on the Hmong Culture! Make sure you don't miss out on this grand opportunity.

Leaves are changing colors rapidly these days and the UMN campus is bustling. HMSA has been hard at work trying to get everything in order for our upcoming events that will be filled with education and fun! Join us on Friday, OCtober 21st for our SECOND Workshop: Hmong Funerals & Practices.


Secondly, our big Halloween Monster Bash is coming up quick! It's a fun filled spooky event that will be happening on Friday, October 28th. There's going to be a costume contest so come dressed up! Free event, free food, free fun! Meet new people and enjoy the night!

Greetings! Can you believe that it has already been nearly a month since the academic year started?! Well tomorrow marks the official day of the arrival of Autumn. We're sure that everyone is excited about bringing out those sweaters and scarves! It also means that many of us will soon celebrate the new year and eat good food. This is always a great time but remember that midterms are right around the corner.
We hope that many of you enjoyed our FIRST GENERAL MEETING last friday. It was very informational and if you would like to take part in our HERITAGE DAY, please sign up outside our office in Coffman 226D/H! Auditions will soon be held so sign up quick! Who knows, you might discover a hidden talent.
