Coronal sonogram through the brain in an infant showing markedly increased asymmetric echogenicity in the right frontoparietal region in the distribution of the right middle cerebral artery. This is confirmed on additional sagittal and coronal images. These findings are representative of subacute infarction, which in this case was due to embolization from congenital heart defect with right to left shunt.
