Pre-Conference Workshops a Success

On Saturday, February 2, GradSEHD hosted a successful pre-conference workshop with two presenters from the Center for Teaching and Learning. Dr. Ilene Alexander presented on Academic Career Development. In her presentation, she discussed ways to find the right institutional fit, curriculum vitae and cover letter writing and letters of recommendation. Dr. Valerie Ruhe presented on getting published in the social sciences. Feedback on the workshops was very positive. One attendee wrote:

“...Ilene Alexander raised questions I hadn’t thought to consider… I went home with a clearer sense of direction. Thank you for this energy boost in the midst of a sometimes murky Ph.D. process.”
