Heteronotia binoei Bynoe's gecko

I am a postdoctoral researcher in Dave Zarkower's lab at the University of Minnesota. My research examines the evolutionary processes that generate and maintain biological diversity. In particular I focus on two complementary topics: 1) comparative genomics and the evolution of sex chromosomes; and 2) the spatial and historical aspects of species diversification – phylogenetics and biogeography. Studying these subjects in a single model clade (lizards) presents an unparalleled opportunity to understand the complex origins of biological diversity.
