Ethical Issues for GIS Research and Teaching

Ethics is a thread that connects many essential issues in the use of GIS: accuracy, reliability, responsibility are key issues.

Previous work in this area (a presentation from 2003 in pdf and html/jpg slideshow formats) formulated an initial critical perspective on ethical issues for GIS. Ongoing work, part of a collaborative project with Oregon State University and Pennsylvania State University, focuses on the pedagogical issues of developing GIS ethics curriculum.
