Dear FACSS members,
Due to some technology failures, this months board report is written in
English.
The board had its fifth meeting on Saturday Oct 5th. We have reviewed the events
we had in the previous month. We are satisfied with the mid-autumn festival
party we had on Sunday Sept 15th. We encourage our members to give us more
feedback and suggestions on the event so we can do a better job in the Chinese
New Years Festival event, which will be held on Saturday
Feb 8th, 2003.
We will start our community volunteer program this month. We hope our members
could participate in the volunteer trips as many times as possible to show your
care and commitment to your community. Our first trip is to help the seniors
to clean the fall leaves at their houses. We will release the announcement
soon.
We had our fall trip last Sunday, and about 40 people joined the trip. I
hope all of you had a good time picking apples. Our next trip will most
likely be in the winter. If any of you have any suggestions, please drop
us a mail and let us know.
We will have two cultural workshops in the near future. Please watch our
event announcement.
We will conduct a member registration and Constitution amendment on Saturday,
November 2nd. For the current year, thanks to the hard work of our fundraising
and marketing teams, there will be no membership due! The number of members
we have do have influence on the
result of our fundraising effort. I hope to see as many of you as possible
on that day.
Our New Years Festival Event will be held on Saturday Feb 8th, 2003.
Hong Ji is identified as the producer of the stage performance for this event.
If you have any suggestions for the event, or if you or someone you know wish
to perform in the event, please contact her at jixx0031@umn.edu.
Wish you all enjoy the beautiful fall season and be well-prepared for the winter.
Yun Qing You
President of FACSS
