About EPASA

EPASA's Membership:

The students of Educational Policy and Administration come from a diversity of backgrounds. Some of come from within education while others bring experience from a myriad of different disciplines. These students come from different states and countries as well as all parts of Minnesota.

They are Master's degree students, Ph.D. students, Ed.D. students, or licensure students studying in one of four degree tracks: Higher Education, Evaluation Studies, Educational Administration, or Comparative and International Development Education.

EPASA students include traditional and nontraditional, full-time and part-time, researchers and professionals, as well as new and experienced students.

EPASA's Mission:

EPASA, The Educational Policy and Administration Student Association, was established for the purpose of facilitating the positive social interaction and professional development of students in EdPA. As such, EPASA events, activities, and other initiatives work to join students together into an interactive and productive community with links to the greater university community and beyond. In order to carry out this mission, five student officers (elected on an annual basis) and a faculty advisor take the responsibility of developing, organizing, and executing events and activities, as well as disseminating information pertinent to students' development.

Membership is automatic for all students enrolled in an EdPA program. There are no fees or membership dues. All students are invited and encouraged to participate not only in the events themselves, but also in generating ideas for new initiatives and aiding in accomplishing them.

EPASA Events and Activities:

  • Organizing student social events

  • Organizing biannual department socials for faculty, staff, and students

  • Coordinating presentations for EdPA students ("Brown Bag Lunches")

  • Providing a forum for students and faculty to practice and get feedback on conference presentations ("Shop Talk")
