(Eller interviewing Carter. Class talks to Class.)
The 6-foot-6, 245-pound Eller played offensive And defensive tackle at the University of  Minnesota and was named an All-American in  1963. A first-round selection of the Minnesota  Vikings in the 1964 NFL draft, Eller was moved to  Defensive end as a pro. He was an important member of the
Minnesota front four nicknamed the "Purple
People Eaters." Because of his speed and
quickness, he teamed with tackle Alan Page to  Give the Vikings a ferocious pass rush. The
Strong Minnesota defense helped takes the team  To four Super bowls, after the 1969, 1973, 1974,  And 1976 seasons. However, the Vikings lost all  four games.
Sometimes used as an extra blocker in
Short-yardage situations, Eller was named an
All-Pro four straight years, from 1970 through
1973. He was with the Vikings through the 1978  Season and retired after spending 1979 with the  Seattle Seahawks.
Eller did some acting after retirement and
Then established a counseling program as part of  The NFL's drug rehabilitation effort. He also  Operates a company involved in sports
Psychology.

THE PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS
The greatest defense to ever walk on the field.
Page,Allen,Larsen and Marshall

"The Purple People-Eaters"
As they were called, and for  nearly a decade, they were
as dominant as any defense in NFL history, their records overlooked somewhat, however, beecause they lost four
times in the Super Bowl during that period.
Their motto was "Meet at the quarterback" and when
they did, oh, it was ugly. One of the quarterbacks who felt their wrath on a  regular basis was Green Bay's Bart Starr. In a 1968 game, Starr -- who had won two Super Bowls in a row -- was sacked three times by Eller and also watched Eller recover a fumble and block a field goal.

Two minute Tommy Kramer
Best known for his late game areal assault. You could always count on a win if Kramer played with a hang-over.

Once stuck in the IDS elevator on his wedding night. Rich Gannon was the first Denny Green casualty.

Bill Brown was football. He was the last of a forgotton game of football.

Bench Warmer Bob. He showed football that humor can be played with heart. I loved the old TCF commercials with the dog and Lurts in the Super TCF guy outfit!

Name one kid in my 4th and fifth grade class that didn't wear number 44's jursey to school.

Before the trash bag, I mean the Metro Dump. This was the place legends were made and a game they call NFL football was truely played.
