I am a Research Geneticist with the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Ames, Iowa. Until recently (January 2006), I was a postdoctoral associate at the University of Minnesota, working in plant pathology, plant biology, and bioinformatics.

Note: this page is transitory. I'll decommission it once I get a replacement set up at ISU.

My Ph.D. work was a study of patterns of plant genome and gene family evolution in Arabidopsis, and a close study of the evolution of the NBS-LRR and apyrase gene families in several legume genomes.

My current work is to help with the coordination and bioinformatics for the project "Sequencing the Gene Space of the Model Legume, Medicago truncatula" (an NSF and international project under lead PI Nevin Young), and bioinformatics support for the "Comparative Analysis of Legume Genome Evolution" project (an NSF project under lead PI Roger Innes).
