Current Projects

Here are some projects that are close to my heart. Please contact me if you'd like to learn more.

Why Friendship?

My dissertation explores the role and value of friendship in personal and societal growth. I am particulaly interested in exploring friendship between persons who have different life experiences, and believe strongly that friendship is an important resource as we work toward social change. As a case study, I examine friendship between persons ideantified as male and persons identified as female in our society. Ultimately, I claim that we unduly limit friendship between such persons, and in doing so limit potentially valuable and life changing relationships.

Philosophy for Children and Childism

I am interested in making philosophy available to anyone who may be interested in it. I am also interested in finding new resources for better respecting the dignity of all persons. I believe that practicing philosophy with children opens philosophy to a population that is often excluded from its practice AND challenges those teaching philosophy to question historical constructions of childhood that limit our ability to imagine children as great philosophical thinkers (Which they are!).

A word after a word after a word is power.
