Welcome to the Univesity of Minnesota Black Law Students Association

The Black Law Students Association (BLSA) at the University of Minnesota is committed to promoting a legal environment of professional-minded black attorneys. We stand true to the the ideals of our mission statement by providing a forum where black law students can express their unique needs and concerns while also promoting diversity in the law school.

We are very excited with all the great changes that have occurred over the past few months. First, we have increased our membership numbers and particpation. Second, we have implemented a variety of new programs, our most popular to date being our first annual career week and a financial aid seminar. Third, we have made more meaningful connections with other law school organizations including the Women Law Students Association, Latino Law Students Association, Asian Pacific Law Students Associaton and the Environmental Legal Society. Last, we have created a new website where we can improve our communication between students, alumni, attorneys and the legal community at large.

It is our hope that the U of M BLSA will continue to be an example of excellence at the University of Minnesota Law School.

Thank you again for visiting our new site!

Tennille McCray

2010-2011 BLSA President
