GO FIRST is a student organization at the University of Minnesota. Created September 2009, GO FIRST supports the FIRST Robotics program in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas. The organization mentors teams, volunteers at regional events, and facilities workshops for students in Minnesota. The group is currently working on implementing the Post Kick Off Collaborative Strategic Design Meeting (PoKo) after the University of Minnesota 2010 FRC Kick Off event January 8th, 2011.

Through GO FIRST, University of Minnesota students are able to take skills learned in the classroom and apply them to real world projects, network with sponsors in the program, and develop teaching and communication skills. Additionally GO FIRST is also planning to participate in the 2011 FIRST Collegiate Pilot Program. The pilot program requires the use of a mini robot and a quadcopter for three different fields. Members of GO FIRST have the opportunity to design, fabricate, and run these robots at the 2011 FIRST Championship Event.
