Our Masquerade Ball will be on Saturday, December 3rd from 7-11. This is a formal dance. It is in the North Star Ballroom in the St Paul Student Center. Pre-sale tickets for students are $10. At the door, tickets for students are $12 and $15 for non-students. Please see our flyer for more details.

In addtion, the USADance monthly dance is October 15th from 7-11PM at the Tropical Ballroom. 7PM-8PM is a west coast swing lesson, and the variety dance is from 8PM-11PM. We will be hosting a fundraiser at this dance called a "dollar dance". USADance monthly dances are a lot of fun, so we encourage you to attend! Below you'll find a map to the Tropical Ballroom:

Classes will resume Tuesday January 25 with the new schedule posted above and new class schedule posted here (Info->Class Schedule). Dues are $40 for students (student ID or class schedule required) and $115 for non-students. There is also a one night $5 pass available.

Tomorrow, the Competition Team will be embarking on a trip to the Ohio Star Ball, a national collegiate competition organized by USA Dance, so whish them luck!
Tiempo Libre, a three time Grammy nominated Cuban musical group that has been featured on

will be performing at the Ordway Center this Saturday at 7:30pm.

The General Review (Review->General Review) pages are now organized by dance. You can go to any General Reivew page, click on a dance and you'll be taken to a review of all the lessons for that dance this semester.
Tomorrow, Nov 12, Beyond Ballroom Dance Company (of which our Julie is a member!) will be having it's Annual Benefit Ball and Show at Dancer's Studio (owned by Shinya) starting at 7 pm. Tickets for students are $15. For directions click here

Competition Team: There will be optional practice time 6-7 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bierman. There is no guarantee music will be available during these times.
We are having a Halloween dance this Friday! It will be at Cooke Hall (enter through the Rec Center). We will start with a Hustle lesson at 7 pm and begin the dance at 7:30. It will be $5 students and $7 for non-students and costumes are required!
For those going to Minnesota Madness, a reminder that if you are riding in the Vans we are meeting outside of the entrance to Bierman Gym at 7:45 am on Saturday.
Remember to bring homework or something to occupy your time while you're waiting for your dances. Also, bring food for lunch and possibly a few snacks.

There will be a large group photo Tomorrow at 7pm at Bierman as The President of USA Dance Minnesota Sue Zeller and Cathy Dessert will present a check to the Ballroom Dance Club which will help us pay for Minnesota Madness.
There is a Ballroom variety dance at Tropical Ballroom this Saturday 7-11pm (Lesson 7-8).
In order to register for and participate at Ohio Star Ball in November everyone needs to purchase a USA Dance Membership here.
Everyone needs to register before this Sunday and have their membership number in hand when they come to comp practice so that we can write down everyone's membership number.
Lessons for this week are cancelled. Instead of regular lessons, there will be practice time for those preparing for Minnesota Madness.
Regular lessons are due to resume next week. However check back in case there is another change in schedule.
Officer meetings take place Tuesdays at 5:45pm and Thursdays at 6:00pm and are held at Bierman Gym. All club members are welcome to watch and/or participate.
Also, there will be a general meeting of all club members on Tuesday, November 2nd at 7:45 pm. Club members will be able to give feedback about instructors, membership dues, club structure, etc.

The Ballroom Dance Club will take part in Today's Homecoming Parade which starts at 7pm and will run down University Ave. You can find more details here.
Minnesota Madness, a fun event and mock Ballroom competition is coming up on October 23. If you intend to participate (you DO NOT need to be on the Competition Team) you MUST inform the officers and pay the $30 fee by Tomorrow.
This Saturday, October 2, 6-10pm The Dancer's Studio will be having it's Fall Showcase. Shinya and his staff will be performing and there will be general dancing as well. You can find more details here.
This Wednesday, September 29, 7:30-8:30 there will be a Ballroom showcase at the Mall of America Rotunda in celebration of National Ballroom Dance Week.
Nels and Theresa as well as many other wonderful dancers from around the Twin Cities will be performing so this is an event you don't want to miss.

This is a reminder that tomorrow everyone is required to pay their dues for Fall. The dues are $35 for students and $110 for non-students. Students remember to bring your class schedules for verification.
