Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity, which was founded 100 years ago as of November 2007, and has been prominent on the U of M campus since 1924. It is one of the largest professional fraternity in the United States, with 188 chapters and over 210,000 members. Here at the University of Minnesota the Alpha Epsilon chapter organizes professional events, such as speakers and tours of company headquarters. Last semester was comprised of a tour of Best Buy and Dairy Queen headquarters, as well as several alumni speakers. This semester a tour of General Mills is in the works. Community service also plays an integral role in the purpose of Delta Sigma Pi. Monthly activities are organized where the chapter does everything from helping the elderly shovel snow and rake leaves, to participating in relay for life. This semester several members are training for a 5k which helps to raise funds for colon cancer. And of course there is the social aspect of this organization. Semesters are filled with retreats, Twins games, potlucks, volley ball, basketball, snow tubing....and the list goes on. There are ample opportunities to socialize and network with other chapters of the fraternity, as well as with alumni and leaders of the business community. If you are looking for a way to combine the professional, and social aspects of your life then Delta Sigma Pi is the perfect organization with which to do it. |
