We are getting closer to the Denali park and learn the unfortunate news that there is a 30-mile road construction ahead of us with about 30 mph speed limit on it and only one lane open. We stop to let the incoming cars to get through and make a picture of a very unusual view of the Mt. McKinley itself.

What makes this mointain so fascinating that it dwarfs all other mountains (which are still thousands of feet high!) around it and that it can be seen from so far away! Everest which is of course higher does not have such an effect.

It takes my breath away every time I see that McKinley is higher than the clouds, breaking through its own weather system. By the way on this photo it is still about 100 miles away!
