... the Byron glacier! We absolutely did not expect to be so close to the glacier! There was another sign telling us that we are at our own risk for walking further and that stepping on the glacier is dangerous since it can cave in at any moment. A glacier may be very cold at the surface but on the verge of melting deep inside. There were cases in the past when not very cautious people have been killed by glaciers.

The view was so fascinating that we didn't think twice about keeping on going forward.
