Board Meeting

2009-02-03

• Position updates
• Winter Gala reflections
o Ex. Planning, set-up and prep, event
o Planning: Venue was good. ..We needed more juice. We should have had a little better communication with committees, because there was miscommunication to guests of what to expect to eat. (Appetizers vs. desserts) We were able to get the GA involved in the decorating/planning part, so we got good ideas. Better communication with the venue people, so that we can really get what we want in a timely manner.
o Set-up and prep: # of tables and chairs was good. It was a good size dance floor, with a combo of chairs.
o Event: Alcohol policies need to be communicated ahead of time. Entrances need to be arranged better, so that the board is closer together and only manning two doors. Music selection was good. Good balance of fast and slow songs. Most feedback has been overwhelmingly positive
