• ASU / Affiliate Event Co-hosting
o Contact ASU treasurer – Paul Tran, tranx178@umn.edu
 Please have your treasurer get in contact with Paul about the planned event!
• Reminders (due ASAP)
o Sign up for office hours if you haven’t already done so
o Turn in your Affiliate form to Nehal (preferable), or Andy/Irene
• Possible event – Taiko drumming (Kevin Ma)
o Two options: 1)go see Taiko show or 2) bring them here. If they come here, there would be other Japanese instruments. Show here would be on November 7th. Conclusion: more people would like to see the show come here, and there seems to be an interest to do so.
• AnySoldier (Irene Tran / Florence Tran)
o Project that started in 2003, sending care packages to those in harms way. www.anysoldier.com
o You go to the website, and find a soldier that you would like to support. Goal is to see the GA and affiliates to work together to collect items to send. Example: DVDs, books, shampoos, etc.
o Month long project proposal, mid-October to mid-November to collect the items. At the end, have a packaging day. They usually send/receive things once a month
o Vanessa’s idea: similar to Halloween, go to affluent neighborhoods to collect items. Not on Halloween.

• Quiet Hours
o Meky: has done surveys to see what people think about this…
o Suggestion: better idea to just have courtesy hours
o Two sides: ASU can either cater to the majority or minority
o Proposed: move quiet hours to 10-12, to satisfy those who want quiet hours, and it satisfies those who don’t want it at all, or not at 2-4.
o Moved to 10-12 after vote.
• Questions, comments, additions
o Feedback on how we moved our meeting to ASU room: much more accessible. Layout is weird, but the room is good. Feel free to give more feedback throughout the week to board members
o Printing policy: 8 pages per person. Ask a board member when you need the paper, and sign the sheet.
o Go to the JSA event after the meeting! 
