• Vincent Who – Jimmy Haung and Co.
o Documentary done by Curtis Chin
o Asking ASU to co-sponsor holding a viewing of this movie. It would cost about $2000 total, and the more ASU donates, the more present ASU’s name would be present with the event
o Timeline: looking to hold this in the spring, in the Asian-American Heritage month. Potentially during our Spring Conference time, or not?
This would be a possibility for educational event for Spring Conference
o Attendance? No numbers thought out yet
o ASU Discussion:
We did consider this last year; chose Grace Lee Project instead
This time there is a workshop tied in with it
Agreed, wait for Eric to email us more info (trailer), have them come back during a GA meeting to explain and see if the GA has an interest in it

o Taste of Macalester
Tomorrow, Oct 4 is the event 2-5 PM
5 people from board are interested in attending (Jimmy, David, Irene, Kha, Keyur, maybe Andy)
o Battle of the Bands
Sat Oct 25th they will have a booth set up before
Interest in going? GA doesn’t seem that interested in going?
Macalester School is holding the event
Let them know that we will have some people attending
• Halloween – in the President’s room, we get the room at 6
o Committees – all committees responsible for meeting outside of board time
PR (2) – Meky & David – designs, printing, calendars, facebook, leading the mktg campaign

Logistics / Purchasing (3-4) – Paul (budget) – purchasing prizes and food, Food (2-3) - determine what food we will have
• Permit due on 10/10

Decorations (4) – floor plan of the room, come up with a theme, get décor that is needed

o No rooms available inside Coffman, just outside; it’s November and more than likely cold
o Outside is trying to be avoided

o Meeting on Monday
o Selling candy in room, made $30 (minus cost of buying)
o What else should be bought for selling?

Buying new products to sell for fundraising
CASA will be helping with AnySoldier
• ASA North Dakota
o They’re coming the weekend of our Halloween Social
o Introduce them to Macallestar?
• MAASU Updates
o Membership fee: $60
o Sending the form in on Monday
o Jimmy talked to someone about the negative history that UofM has had in the past with MAASU, she said she will look into it, to make sure it doesn’t happen again
o New website for fall leadership conference is up, jimmy will email it out

o Queer Student Group: slam poetry, that is an Asian group. Want ASU to either co-sponsor, or help out with attendance at the least. Next Friday, October 10.
o Board members should not have office hours after 5 PM.
o Tell people to stand outside, even if you have a 5 minute break in between officers
o Yoga update: Practice session with Feline…she’s amazing Lot of people in ASU Tuesday and Thursday evening; it would be a good option? We wouldn’t be kicking people out, just letting them know they can still study in ASU. Otherwise, 3rd floor has room availability.
