General Assembly Meeting
November 8, 2006

I. Guest Speaker – Russ Lyons; Environmental Justice Task Group
-EJ coalition planning a campaign to inform public of toxic levels in neighborhoods.
-Looking for multicultural collaboration to solve environmental issues that affects all people cross-culturally.
-Looking for a social event that can inform students and can recruit students to work for environmental change.
-MPIRG Meetings on Mondays
-ASU has been looked to because talks began at an ASU meeting and BSU is interested in being a part of the cause.
-Event will include speakers.
-Hopefully have students cook for the social event using 2nd floor kitchen.

II. Reminder – ASU collaboration funding available
-Contact Rachel regarding collaborations.
-Informational meeting for GA’s TBA.

III. Spring Semester Registration
-Keep time slot open 5:45pm on Wednesdays for GA Meetings

IV. Yinghua Academy Celebration – Nehal
Monday November 20, 5:30-7:30 pm
-Chinese immersion school.
-Grand Opening on Nov 20th, please RSVP by Monday
-Looking for volunteers to tutor and hold after-school activities for K-3 students.
-Asian students from adopted families. Looking for Asian-American college students to instill higher education values with students.
-Mandarin is the main language that is taught, but volunteers don’t need to speak Mandarin.

ISA:
APAHC: Semester-end event: Movie Nights, Nov. 16-17, location TBA
KSA: No events.
TSA: Nov. 18th, Karaoke Night, 5-9 PM @ West Bank Auditorium, fees: $3 for members, $5 for non-members
VSAM: Community Thanksgiving Feast, Nov. 18th, Lucky Dragon Restaurant, 11 AM-1 PM, performances
CSAM: This Friday, Willey Hall, recreation and food
CASA: Next Friday, 5-7 PM, Potluck, location TBA
PSA: Nov. 17, 5-7 PM, Mississippi Room, Phillipine history day, performances
LSA: Date auction, Dec. 8th, 7 PM, in the Whole
Danny -> Assistant Director for Lao America
