About The U of M - ASME Student Chapter
ASME is an acronym standing for "American Society of Mechanical Engineers." From asme.org: "ASME promotes the art, science & practice of mechanical & multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe." At the University of Minnesota we are a student run chapter where you can attend industry presentations, meet other Mechanical Engineering students, attend social events, and much more.
The ASME office is located in Mechanical Engineering room 1121A and B, which is easiest found by coming in the doors by the tin man. Take a right just after coming inside and it will be the first room on the right. There is a two floor study space open normal university hours with many tables and chairs as well as white board. We have various kinds of pop and candy for $.50 apiece as well as a microwave available for use, during office hours held by officers. We also have a few University of Minnesota ASME shirts for $10 left, but quantities and sizes are limited.
