Recruitment

ΑΣΚ holds recruitment twice a year, at the beginning of both Fall and Spring semester. Unlike other sororities, we participate in informal recruitment, so the atmosphere is much more relaxed (and it doesn't cost money).

We hold free events for about two weeks for all interested women, known as Prospective Candidates, to attend during recruitment. This gives us time to get to know every Prospective Candidate on a deeper level, as well for them to get to know us.

After the recruitment period, Prospective Candidates will be considered for a bid. This bid will be a formal invitation to join our sorority as a Candidate. In order to qualify for consideration, our Prospective Candidates must attend at least two recruitment events and meet our academic requirements.

Because we are Women in Technical Studies, we accept women in Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, physical sciences, biological sciences, and computer science. There is also a GPA requirement of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

During the candidacy period, Candidates will become familiar with the members, governing documents, history and traditions of our sorority. Candidates are also required to attend our weekly meetings as well as Candidate Education. At the end of this candidacy period, Candidates will have the opportunity to officially be initiated and join us as an active Sister of Alpha Sigma Kappa.

If you are interested in joining us for an event, check our Calendar for what is happening. You can also contact any of the active Sisters, we will be more than happy to answer any questions.
