2009 Anthropology Conference
The Anthropology of Attraction, Sex and Desire

Saturday and Sunday, April 25th-26th

University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Chaska, MN

 

Speakers:

Dr. Katherine Frank - She has done extensive research on the sex industry in the US.

Dr. William Jankowiak - Renowned ethnographer. Will be speaking on his research among Mormon polygamist sects.

Dr. Paul Roach - Evolutionary anthropologist. Will be speaking about sexual selection.

 

Call for Papers: All students are welcome to submit papers from any subfield of anthropology for presentation at the conference (the paper topic need not be related strictly to the conference theme). This is a great opportunity for Graduate and Undergraduate students to share their work with faculty and peers, as well as gain experience presenting research in an academic setting. To submit a paper or presentation, please send us your name, email, the title (or subject) of your work, and drop in the club's mailbox in 395 HHH by Wednesday, April 15th. You may also email us with this information at umnanthroclub@gmail.com.

$20 for Student Presenters
$30 for Students
$35 for Regular Admission


Registration fee includes a catered dinner on Saturday evening. The Arboretum will not charge an entrance fee for conference goers. Registration at the door will cost an additional $10. There are no refunds for cancelations after April 15th and for no-shows. Checks may be made out to: The University of Minnesota Undergraduate Anthropology Club.
