Schedule

Want to get involved in Active Minds? Come to a meeting!

Please Note:Our Spring 2010 schedule is still being determined! Please check back in the next week or two for our new schedule.

Fall 2009 Meetings
: These meetings are open to the public, including old and new members of Active Minds. Our social meetings are led by officers or interested Active Minds members and are a chance for all students to get together and learn about/discuss specific and general mental health issues. They're a fun way to get involved. We offer great information, treats, free stuff, movie clips, and great discussion! Meetings last approximately an hour.

MEETINGS ARE HELD IN ROOM 203 OF COFFMAN MEMORIAL UNION (the DSCC) UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

Pulling from our experience with students artists from the Awake Art exhibit (see our events page for more information about Awake), we will work together to see how we can visualize mental health. Meeting @ Bordertown Coffeehouse (see bottom of page for map from Coffman).

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at 5 pm
Verbal Communication and Stigma: Breaking Down Negative Connotations
What's the status of the war on mental illness stigma? How can we more effectively battle it on campus? How do we encourage it ourselves? Meeting @ Bordertown Coffeehouse (see bottom of page for map from Coffman).

Presentation on the Latest Mental Health Campus Initiatives from National Active Minds
Join us for a laid-back meeting with snacks, games, and a current events discussion! The officers of Active Minds traveled to Washington, DC, in November for the National Active Minds Conference, and we'll share a little about the best workshops and ideas we've gathered from the conference. Meeting in room 203 of Coffman Union (the DSCC).

We'll also alert you via e-mail when our meetings and events are if you join our listserve.
