H. 'Louisa' is one of the first hostas I ever acquired. I have it planted with h. nakiana. in a long bed along the west side my garage. I have alternated plants along the 22 feet of the bed. Both plants are about the same size (8-10 inches high and 10-12 inches across) and the pattern of plain green, variegated, plain green, etc., makes for some visual interest. It blooms well for me but has never set any seed. It's not rare or expensive, but I like it anyway. It's a member of the h. sieboldiana family. It likes more moisture than many hostas and can tolerate a fair amount of sun, although mine grow in deep shade under a large burr oak.
