H. 'Aoki'

Even though this shot from near ground level overemphasizes the size of this plant, it is still a quite large hosta. To see how it looks in my largest hosta bed, click here and scroll to the photo farthest down the page. The Shday Oaks Nursery catalog describes H. 'Aoki' as having "dark green leaves with glaucous (whitish bloom) underside." In my garden it is more a blue-grey color. It is a prolific bloomer, with large white flowers in August. It also sets seed, but I have been unable to germinate any of them. A very showy specimen plant.
