Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara is the northern part of the Serengetti Plain that extends south into Tanzania. In July and August, the grass being exhausted on the Serengetti, the animals migrate north to Kenya. Some 3 million Wildebeest make the journey along with Zebra and other hoofed animals. They are followed, of course, by the predators for whom they are the food supply. We were at the Mara just at the beginning of the migration.
