Amboseli National Park

Amboseli in on the border of Tanzania in south central Kenya. Mount Kilimanjaro is a very visible presence in Amboseli, when it's not shrouded in clouds. Kilimanjaro is the environmental key to the ability of the animals to survive in this desert climate. Amboseli has a large and much studied herd of some 300 elephants. The Wildebeest migrate between here and an area south of Mount Kilimanjaro, depending on the season and where the grass is more plentiful. We saw tens of thousands of Wildebeest at Amboseli.
