Born: February 26, 1932 near Earlham, Iowa
Currently lives in Monteverde, Costa Rica

Daughter of Ernest and Aseneth Standing. Married Wilford Guindon October 14, 1950 and moved to Costa Rica that fall. They had a dairy farm there.

She writes: "Following the influence of two artists who had moved to Monteverde and started classes, I began drawing and painting, eventually finding my perferred medium of pen and ink with ink wash. Trees, especially the strangler fig, with its twining sculptures, became my favorite subjects. I call them my medications, each one taking from 8 to 18 hours or so to complete. This can mean weeks, because one can only work 2 hours each day-- in the same hour each day--sitting in lighting which is ever-changing and dependent on the sun."
