Freedom by Design

What is Freedom by Design, and what can it do?

AIAS Freedom by Design™, an AIAS community service program, utilizes the talents of architecture students to radically impact the lives of people in their community through design and construction solutions. Vital modifications are made to enhance the homes of low-income elderly and disabled individuals by addressing their struggles with everyday tasks such as bathing, ascending stairs and opening doors.

Why am I being asked to be involoved in Freedom by Design?

Through numerous AIAS chapters, Freedom by Design™ (FBD) teaches you how to resolve accessiblity issues whie simulaneously providing you with the real world experience of working with a client, mentorship from a local architect, and an understanding of practical impact of architecture and design.

What is exacly being proposed for this fall semester?

After a year of planning and realization, I have I learned that a strong team must be built first. Therefore, I need to fill some postions to help make this project a reality throughout the semester. The positions are as follows:
