Using the Identify Tool Identifying Information About a Theme
This tool allows you to identify characteristics about some of the themes. This tool works with the feature themes (country boundaries, cities, rivers, lakes, earthquakes, volcanoes, fault lines, and tectonic plates) but not with the image layers. Using the Identify tool: Click on a theme name in the atlas view Table of Contents. This selects and makes that theme active. Theme names that appear raised in the Table of Contents are the "active" themes (in this example, Earthquakes). Click on the Identify tool button and move your cursor to a spot on the map to identify. Click on a feature of interest. This will bring up a dialog box that contains information about that feature. When finished, close the dialog box. To see ArcVoyager and the Identify tool, see Picture A. |
