First
annual research retreat for
faculty, post-doctoral research
associates,
residents/fellows
and students
in
the College of Pharmacy at the
University of Minnesota.
Goals:
To establish a
new annual research retreat to
promote research interactions
and develop new
interdisciplinary
research initiatives among
researchers in the four key
departments of College of
Pharmacy
at the
University of Minnesota:
Pharmaceutics, Medicinal
Chemistry, Experimental &
Clinical Pharmacology
and Social
& Administrative Pharmacy.
Background: The
college of pharmacy at the
University of Minnesota is one
of the top three ranked
Pharmacy
Schools in the US. The
research interest at the College
encompasses various areas of
drug
discovery,
drug development, pharmacy
practice and health care
policy. However,
currently, there is lack of
a common
platform
to exchange research ideas among
researchers with diverse
scientific interests within the
College. The
planned event is aimed at
establishing new
interdisciplinary research
initiatives that will help
the future
development of the College.
