Gopher Cycling to race with One on One Bicycle Studio
The University of Minnesota Cycling Team and One on One Bicycle Studio are proud to announce they will be joining forces for the 2007 collegiate racing season. The Gophers will be wearing the unmistakable One on One logo on their jerseys for all road, MTB, and track events in the North Central Collegiate Cycling Conference and plenty of open events around the US. Gene Oberpriller and his team of expert mechanics and baristas will be supporting the team throughout. The Gophers are a club sport at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus and compete against schools in Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa. They are completely organized and managed by student team members at the University. Last season the track team managed a 4th place at collegiate track nationals. On the dirt and on the road, the gophers captured the conference overall championships in the men’s A, Women’s A, and Team categories. With coach Bill O’Reilly returning for the 2007 season, and the added support of One on One Bicycle Studio, the program aims to continue its dominance. Nationally known One On One Bicycle Studio is located in the Minneapolis Warehouse district. Started in 2001 it has quickly become a fixture as the "go to" place for the best in service and advice. In addition to bicycles, it also houses a great coffee shop and art gallery. The Gophers begin their season in March with a road and MTB training camp over spring break in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Their road schedule takes them throughout the central US for road, criterium, and both individual and team time trials. The NCCCC road schedule is as follows:
