CAMPUS MINISTRY / YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMS

Programs for discussion on campus
or in other gatherings of UU young adults

This set of programs was created by James Park,
retired staff member for the Minnesota Unitarian Universalist Campus Ministiries.
They may be freely adapted for any interested group.

If your group has an e-mailing list,
you might send the complete text by e-mail before the meeting.
(This could also be accomplished by sending just the URL for the selected subject.)

Or, since these are short discussion-starters,
you could even decide to read the text at the meeting,
pausing between sections for discussion.

Or you might decide to print-out the text
and distribute it before the meeting or at the meeting.

Code (the green letters after some titles)

C.  Christian. Subjects for people from Christian backgrounds,
helping them to make the transition from Christian roots to UUism.

D.  Discussion. Subjects appropriate for group discussion, panels, etc.
We all have experiences, thoughts, questions, & stories on these themes.

N.  Newsworthy. These subjects are so current and perhaps controversial
that the campus news media might be invited to cover the event.

O.  Outreach. Subjects especially appropriate for a gathering
which you intend to advertise for visitors from the general public,
people who have never before attended a UU event.
These talks presuppose no previous knowledge of UU thinking or traditions.
And they address subjects already alive in the minds
of people on the verge of becoming Unitarian Universalists.
