Graduate Programs and Career Opportunities Presentation

There will be a luncheon with a speaker this Wednesday, Oct. 26 in 4-101 Nils Hasselmo Hall from 12:15-1:45. Pizza and Pop will be provided and the speaker will be Dr. Jay Goldberg. Dr. Goldberg will speak and field questions about career opportunities for Biomedical Engineers and also about the Healthcare Technologies Management Graduate Program at Marquette (www.mu.edu/hctm) Highlights of the presentations are below.

My first presentation will be about the Healthcare Technologies Management Program, which is a unique graduate program that prepares biomedical and other engineers for careers involving management of technologies in clinical and industrial settings. It is a unique mix of business, management, technology, and healthcare and prepares students for management positions in medical device companies, hospitals, and consulting firms.

My second presentation will be about Career Opportunities for Biomedical Engineers. I will discuss traditional and non-traditional jobs for biomedical engineers, salary information, location of medical device companies, the effect of graduate school on salaries, reasons to go to graduate school, and other career related issues.

This is an excellent opportunity to find out more information about the future Biomedical Engineers have. Free food, free information, it doesn’t hurt to find out a little more about what is out there for Biomedical Engineers. If you have class during part of the speech, feel free to just stop in any time. Dr. Goldberg will answer questions before, during, and after the presentations.
